Number of COVID-19 victims topped 13.7 m globally

The number of people infected with the coronavirus epidemic has exceeded 13.7 million worldwide. The international survey agency Worldometer reported the information.
According to the agency, the total number of people infected with coronavirus in the world is 13,743,000 people. Of these, 588,014 people have died. Besides, 8,192,031 people have recovered so far.
In December 2019, the coronavirus was first detected in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China. So far, the virus has spread to 215 countries and regions around the world.
According to the Worldometer, the highest number of victims and deaths so far is in the United States. The total number of victims is 3,619,663 people. Of them, 140,200 people have died. Brazil is in second place in terms of both infection and casualties. The number of people infected with coronavirus in the country stands at 1,972,072 people. Of them, 75,568 people have died. In India, which came in third place, 979,719 people have been infected. Of them, 25,101 people have lost their lives.
In Russia, which dropped to fourth place, 7,52,797 people have been infected and 11,937 of them have died in the coronavirus infection. In Peru, which is in fifth place, 337,724 people have been infected. Of these, 12,412 people lost their lives.
China, the origin of coronavirus has recorded, 83,612 coronavirus cases and 4,734 people of them have lost their lives. Although the coronavirus infection has stopped in the country, there have been recent cases of re-infection.
