One person has died in China from another virus known as ‘hantavirus’ in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak worldwide.

The man, who tested positive for hantavirus — died on a chartered bus on Monday at Yunnan province in China. - reports Global Times.

The tabloid reported that the affected person died on a bus en route from Shandong to Yunnan province in China. All the 32 co-passengers that were travelled by bus with the infected person have been tested “positive”.

Hantavirus is a virus that normally infects rodents but does not cause disease. Humans can infect with the virus through contact with urine, saliva, or feces from rodents.

The virus, in the US, is known as “New World Hantavirus” while it is also known as “Old World Hantavirus” in Europe and Asia. The virus may cause “hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS),” according to the United States Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Besides, China CDC said that the virus belongs to the family of coronaviruses. It can also be in the body of rats and squirrels. The virus is followed by fatigue, fever, and muscle aches and has a mortality rate of 38 percent.
