The initial trial of the coronavirus vaccine invented by the US biotech company Novavax has been a success. In an announcement on Tuesday, the company claimed the success of the vaccine they invented.
According to Novavax, the experimental vaccine they developed for Covid-19 had a wide immune response. The vaccine is even more potent than the amount of immune capacity a Covid-19 patient needs to recover, and very few side effects have been detected in early-stage trials.
Last month, the US government provided $160 crore in funding to the company under Operation Warp Speed, a public-private partnership. However, it lags behind other companies, including Moderna and AstraZeneca, in the competition of time when it comes to production. All these companies are in the final stages of their trial.
According to Novavax, Phase-1 of the test was tested on 131 healthy adults between the ages of 18 and 59.
The initial side effects are headache, fatigue, and muscle aches, it is not a serious problem.
The vaccine is effective in preventing the protein in the Covid-19 virus that is responsible for invading human cells.
The Maryland-based company says people taking the test will have their dose increased after 28 days. The company hopes that this vaccine will be effective and successful in preventing Covid-19.
