Noakhali ‘special lockdown’ extended for another 7 days

The district administration has extended the ongoing special lockdown in six unions and one municipality of Noakhali for another seven days. The lockdown will be effective till 12 am on June 25. At the same time, all the previous restrictions will remain in force.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the District Coronavirus Prevention Committee at the conference room of the DC’s office on Thursday afternoon.
DC Mohammad Khorshed Alam Khan said a seven-day lockdown was declared in six unions of Noakhali Municipality and Sadar Upazila in the first phase. However, the ongoing lockdown has been extended for seven more days in the third phase as the outbreak of Covid-19 did not reduce. The lockdown will be effective till 12 am on June 25. At the same time, all the previous restrictions will remain in force.
Earlier, the district administration announced a 14-day lockdown in six unions of Noakhali municipality and Sadar upazila in two phases on June 5 and June 10.
