Addressing the BNP, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said there is no situation of changing the government through movement in the country. The government can change only through elections – in a democratic system of government.
He made the remarks while addressing a video conference at a progress review meeting of the Bus Rapid Transit-BRT project under implementation from Gazipur to Dhaka Airport on Tuesday.
Obaidul Quader said if want to change the government, it will have to wait until the next election. “If the BNP thinks that it will reach the golden gate of power through the back alley, then they are living in a fool’s paradise,” he said.
Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader thanked those concerned for not charging extra fare on public transport at the time. He also urged the owners and workers as well as the passengers to be strict towards hygiene.
At the same time, Obaidul Quader directed the BRTA and the district administration to continue the activities of the mobile courts to maintain discipline on the roads across the country.
