No quota for primary teachers recruitment

The process of recruitment of 25,300 pre-primary teachers and 10,000 assistant teachers has started across the country. However, there is no quota in this appointment, relevant sources said.

As per the government decision, it has been decided to lift the quota as the post of the assistant teacher has been upgraded into 13th grade. Although Muktijoddha, Tribal, Ansar-VDP, Disabled, and District quotas have been abolished, 60 percent posts are to be filled with women, 20 percent posts by dependents, and the remaining 20 percent by men.

In continuity, the recruitment of primary teachers will start at the end of September or early October. In the meantime, to start the pre-primary and assistant teacher recruitment process, a recruitment circular has been prepared from DPE and sent to the ministry for approval.

Bachelor (honors), Bachelor (pass), or equivalent degree have been made as educational qualifications for both men and women applicants for the first time. The application process has to be completed online with the candidate's SSC and HSC exam roll and registration number.

AM Mansur Alam, Additional Secretary (Schools), Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, said the recruitment circular has been sent from the department at two levels. It will be approved and sent this week. After that, the next work of recruitment will start with the publication of circular. According to the latest government decision, all quotas for the recruitment of teachers in primary schools have been abolished.
