No outdoor programmes on 31st night: Kamal

Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said on Tuesday that all outdoor events will not be allowed to celebrate the 31st Night.

After inaugurating the `Dhaka Metropolitan Shooting Club` at Bangladesh Police Officers` Mess in city`s Ramna area, he talked to the reporters and said that we won’t allow any meeting, rally and musical events in open place for celebrating the New Year due to the sake of people’s security.

The minister also said all bars across the country will remain closed on that day.

The program was attended by Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Syed Shahed Reza, Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque, Additional Inspector General Mokhlesur Rahman and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia with Dhaka Metropolitan Shooting Club President Siddiqur Rahman.

Earlier on December 19, the DMP chief announced that meetings, rallies, musical events and fireworks will not be allowed on the 31st Night.
