No one has been allowed to produce the Chinese Covid-19 vaccine developed by Sinopharm in the country, said Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA).

Drug Administration Director General Major General Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the matter to media on Sunday.

Earlier, different media published news quoting the Drug Administration as saying that Incepta Pharmaceuticals had been allowed to produce Chinese-invented coronavirus vaccine ‘Sinopharm’ in the country.

From this month, Incepta Pharmaceuticals will be able to start production of the Chinese-invented coronavirus vaccine 'Sinopharm' in the country in the current month, according to reports. Drug Administration will announce the details of the approval of the 'Sinopharm' coronavirus vaccine in-country at 11 am on Monday.

Earlier on Wednesday, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming handed over 500,000 vaccines of Sinopharm to Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Health Minister Zahid Maleque at the state guest house Padma.
