No need to pay delay fee for electricity bills till Jun

State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid Bipu on Sunday said that no need to pay the delay fee for electricity bills till next June.
“A decision was made that those who could not pay their electricity bills would be able to do so in May without any delay fee. However, they will be able to give it in June, i.e., it has been decided to waive the delay fee,” he told reporters at a press conference at the secretariat in the capital.
Mentioning that about Tk 26,000 crore has been allocated in the power and energy sector in this year’s budget, he said, “Tk 24,000 crore of these has been allocated for electricity and Tk 2,000 crore for energy.”
Importance would be given to transmission lines in the power sector and gas exploration in energy, said the State Minister for Power and Energy.
