However, the Election Commission has allowed journalists to use motorcycles during Sunday’s 11th general election across the country, provided that they display the commission’s approval sticker.
Meanwhile, all types of motor-driven vehicles, including public and private transports, have been banned on election day. The ban will be applicable on motor-run three-wheelers, auto-rickshaws, bike, taxi cab, microbus, jeep, pickup, car, bus, truck, tempo, and easy bike and locally made different types of vehicles driven by motor.
However, the ban will be relaxed for the candidates, their agents, local and foreign observers with having approvals from the returning officers and ID cards under their possessions.
The ban will also be relaxed for the media vehicles to be used for local and foreign newsmen on condition of having their ID cards, it said.
Besides, the vehicles of the officials who will be engaged in election duties, law enforcement agencies, ambulance, fire service and civil defense, electricity, gas and telecom will be kept out of the purview of the ban.
