From now on, the government employees will have to perform duties from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm like before, confirmed Sheikh Yusuf Harun, Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, on Thursday, saying that “all ministries, including the public administration ministry, have been asked to implement the directive.”

“The government officials and employees will have to work as usual from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. There are no more opportunities to work from home or based on the roster,” the Secretary said.

However, it has also been directed for sick, elderly and child-bearing officials not to come to the office, said Sheikh Yusuf Harun.

Meanwhile, ministries have also been instructed by the Cabinet Division that all government officials and employees should be in the office from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm as before.

“We have already given instructions in this regard,” said Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam.

It is worth to be mentioned that many government employees got the opportunity to work from home due to the prevailing situation of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
