The regular online health bulletin on the coronavirus situation in the country is coming to an end. This bulletin will no longer be available from next Wednesday, confirmed Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Monday.
However, the last health bulletin will be broadcasted online at 2:30 pm on Tuesday.
It is learned that the update on coronavirus will be sent to the media in the form of a press release from Wednesday.
Earlier, in the first week of February, the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) organized the first briefing on the coronavirus issue. The director of the institution, Professor Dr. Mirzadi Sabrina Flora herself used to give briefings.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) is also directly involved in the briefing with IEDCR after the identification of coronavirus-infected patients in the country. At the end of March, Dr. Habibur Rahman, director of the MIS Division of IEDCR, continues to conduct regular briefings instead of Dr. Flora. Although the briefing was held at 3:00 pm, the DGHS finalized the briefing time at 2.30 pm.
The DGHS then decided to conduct an online briefing considering the health risks. The directorate started presenting the briefing in the form of a bulletin in the second week of April. Prof. Dr. Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the DGHS, regularly presented information in the health bulletin.
It is worth to be mentioned that almost everything in the country has started to normalize amidst coronavirus except for educational institutions. The number of virus patients in the country is also coming down.
