In the pandemic coronavirus situation in the country, the Awami League government is trying to overcome the crisis by taking various humanitarian and developmental programs. Just then the BNP has kept halted their organizational activities and engaged in the government's criticism with robust melancholy.

It goes without saying that there has been no new program of BNP for the last two months. The party has suspended its all organizational activities till June 15 due to the coronavirus situation. As a result, the activists are spending their days in huge despair.

Leaders and workers do not even know about any specific action plan. They say that for the time being, they are looking to increase the organizational strength by organizing the team.

It has been seen several times on the spot recently that the entire building of the party's central office is covered with various banner festoons but there is no leader in front of the office. The image inside is the same. The official activities of the party’s core body are performed on the first and second floors of the building. There are only a handful of people working there. Talking to them, it is learned that there is frustration among them in this situation. However, the morale is intact. Now the activities of the party means holding press briefing only.

But on the third floor, almost all the offices of BNP affiliates, Juba Dal, Chhatra Dal, and Krishak Dal are now locked. No leaders-activists foot there.

Asked about communication with the grassroots and organizational activities, BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said, "In the coronavirus situation, we have suspended organizational activities through an announcement." This is not the time for organizational activities, now is the time to work with Corona, to stand by people. We are doing so. We are going door to door with the help of relief aid. Leaders and workers have also been instructed so. They are also working according to the instructions. And how would this activity have been possible if there was no unity within the party?” he also made the query.

BNP vice-chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, "Due to the Corona situation, our organizational activities have been suspended till June 15." However, relief efforts continue.

He said it was true that in this situation it was not possible to communicate with the leaders in a physical way. However, there is a regular communication online-on mobile. From that point of view, “I would not say that it is possible to maintain communication with 100 percent of the staff, but it is being done as much as possible under environmental conditions.
