No govt job if positive in dope test: HM

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said everyone has to undergo a dope test to get a government job. If anyone is tested positive, he will not get a government job. Such activity is going to start soon.
He made the remarks while addressing a meeting of the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) at the Sagar-Runi auditorium on Friday afternoon. The meeting was organized by Manas, a drug and drug prevention agency.
Not only those in government service but also those who are doing government jobs are being brought under a dope test, said Home Minister. “In particular, those in the security forces have already been subjected to dope tests. Action is being taken against those who are tested positive.”
“We are working to prevent the spread of drugs and enable the youth to live with their heads high,” he also said.
“The Department of Narcotics Control is working is working as a moral agency so that we can harness the talents of the new generation, as well as our security forces, are cooperating with them.”
The minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had declared zero tolerance in eradicating terrorism and militancy and asked him to adopt a zero-tolerance policy in drug control. “We are working with her instructions in mind. We will control drugs from the country at any cost,” added Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
