Regent Hospital Chairman Shahed Karim has tarnished the image of the country in the eyes of the world by cheating on the coronavirus test, commented Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, saying, “The security forces are always vigilant against these scams. Fraudsters will not be spared, we are in a strict position in this place.”
He made the remarks at a press briefing held at his Dhanmondi residence on the occasion of Shahed’s arrest on Wednesday.
The Home Minister said Shahed was always looking for loopholes - how to get out, how to cheat. He cheated in various places. “But this time we will reveal everything and hand it over to the law or the judge so that he should not be able to cheat anymore,” he added.
“I have been saying from the beginning that Shahed’s trial will be done subject to investigation. There will be an official investigation. A case has also been filed. The chargesheet will be submitted to the court after the investigation,” he said.
Prime Minister does not give concessions to anyone – whether the criminal is from the party, people’s representatives or government officials, no one has been discounted, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal further said.
