State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury
State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said that there is no alternative to education in the field of development. It is time for education and time to move on.
He came up with the comments while inaugurating 'Premier Bank UK Canada Edu Expo 2020' as the chief guest at Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka on Friday.
The state minister said, "The meritorious students of our country are studying abroad as well as working as ambassadors of the country. They are able to inform the foreign students about the development and progress of the country besides their studies. The country's population of over 160 million needs to be enlightened in the light of education, otherwise, we will fall behind. There is no alternative to education to keep up with the trend of development."
The state minister said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is Bangladesh friendly. She is a brave, prudent and visionary leader. I do not think that there is such an experienced Prime Minister in the world. She has been leading the Bangladesh government for four times. The Prime Minister has announced a change of day in the 2008 election manifesto. In all cases, the country is moving forward to development.
The state minister said, "After the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975, there was no rule of law in the country and criminals would commit crimes and flee. The trial of the perpetrators was stopped by law. The trial for the assassination of Bangabandhu and the trial for the assassination of the national four leaders in jail were closed by law. By introducing the politics of impunity, immense potential country was pushed into darkness."
He said that the criminals have been brought to justice in the last 11 years of the Awami League government. The history of change of days has been created. Bangladesh is in the right direction. The economy is moving forward. Padma Bridge has become a matter of pride. And all this has been possible due to the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Among others Kazi Faridul Haque Happy, President, FACD-CAB and Monirul Haque, Managing Director, Sanjen Edu Limited spoke on the occasion.
Sanjen Edu Limited has organized the fair for two days. 10 educational institutions from UK and Canada are participating in the 'Premier Bank UK Canada Edu Expo 2020' fair. The fair starts today and will continue till 7 pm tomorrow.
