Night temperature may rise by 1-2°C

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Thursday predicted that day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celcius over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am. 

The Met Office also forecasted that the ongoing mild heatwave would continue while weather would remain dry with the temporary partly cloudy sky over the country during the period.

“Mild heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal Divisions and the regions of Sitakunda, Rangamati, M.Court, Feni, Rajshahi and Pabna, and it may continue,” said a Met Office bulletin issued this morning.

However, rain or thundershowers, accompanied by a temporary gusty wind, may occur at one or two places over Sylhet and Mymensingh Divisions, the bulletin said.

The maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded 37.8 degrees Celsius in Mongla and Chuadanga of Khulna Division, while today’s minimum temperature was 17.5 degree Celsius in Tetulia of Rangpur Division.

The sun sets at 6:15 pm today and rises at 5:49 am tomorrow in the capital.
