Nigeria releases memorial stamp marking Mujib Year

African nation Nigeria has released a commemorative stamp honoring the Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of Bangabandhu‘s Birth centenary. The country’s Postal Service has unveiled the commemorative stamp in a joint virtual program participated by Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen and his Nigerian counterpart Geoffrey Onyeama on Thursday.
Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen and his Nigerian counterpart Geoffrey Onyeama jointly unveiled the commemorative stamp at a virtual platform marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 27, 2020, reports UNB.
The program, hosted by the Bangladesh High Commission in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, was held virtually at 5:00 pm (Bangladesh time) on Thursday.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary Masud bin Momen, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nigeria M Shameem Ahsan and Nigerian Postal Service Director-General Dr. Ismail Adebayo Adewusi, along with Bangladeshi expatriates residing in Nigeria, also joined the ceremony virtually.
