N’ganj mosque blast: Two more victims die, death toll reaches 31

After the death of Abdus Chatter, two more victims died, taking the death toll to 31 in the AC blast in connection to the gas line explosion at the Baitus Salat Jame Mosque in the western part of Fatulla in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila.
So far 31 people out of 37 blast-injured, have died. And one lucky man has recovered and returned home in the incident. The remaining five are still in the ICU, however, their condition is critical.
The victims died while undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Thursday afternoon, said Perth Sankar Pal, a resident surgeon at the institute.
The blast took place at the Baitus Salat Jame Mosque in the western part of Fatullah on Friday night. Within moments, panic spread among about 50 people inside the mosque.
37 of them were rescued and admitted to the Sheikh Hasina Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. A child named Jewel died for the first time in the incident around 12:30 am that day. The Imam and Muezzin of the mosque are also on the list of the dead.
