Newly elected MPs to be sworn in Thursday

The Awami League is going to form the government as the party win landslide victory with over two-thirds majority in the 11th general elections on Sunday.  

The newly elected Members of Parliament (MP) will take oath on January 3. The gazette notification will be published within 2/1 days.

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Tuesday disclosed the information to reporters at his secretariat office in the capital.

It is known that the Awami League President Hasina will be the Prime Minister for the fourth times and third times in a row in the country. 

Jatiya Party will be the opposition party in the parliament.

The ruling Awami League alone got 259 seats in the elections. Jatiya Party (JP), a coalition partner of the Grand Alliance, secured second highest getting 20 seats. After getting seven seats, the BNP is in the third position.
