Newly-constructed ‘Daak Bhabon’ inaugurated

The official journey of the newly constructed building of the Directorate of Posts ‘Daak Bhabon’ has begun. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the aesthetic building in the form of a post box with modern facilities on Thursday in the capital’s Agargaon.
The Premier inaugurated the building by joining a video conference from Ganabhaban in the capital around 11:30 am on Thursday.
Earlier, she released a commemorative stamp to commemorate the inauguration of the new building of the Directorate of Posts.
Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar presided over the event from the Daak Bhabon.
Md. Afzal Hossain, Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division, and Md. Siraj Uddin, Director General of the Directorate of Posts and others attended the inauguration ceremony following the hygiene rules.
According to the Posts and Telecommunications Division, the building has been constructed at a cost of Tk 91.73 crore. The project titled “Headquarters of the Directorate of Posts of Bangladesh” for the construction of 14-storey building with 2 basements was approved by ECNEC on 20 March 2018.
The newly constructed post building has a well-equipped library, modern postal museum, spacious auditorium, cafeteria, daycare center, medical facilities, fire-fighting system and other information technology facilities including 24 hours WiFi.
