Navy provides food, medical assistance to flood-hit people

Bangladesh Navy provided food and medical assistance on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha for the flood-affected people in different areas of Manikganj district.

Navy on Friday distributed dry food and medicine to 1,000 local poor families in Harirampur, Gala, Kanchanpur, Jhitka, and Ramkrishnapur upazilas, who were in dire need of food, safe drinking water and medical treatment due to the flood.

Mohammad Reza-ul Karim Shammi, Assistant Director of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on Tuesday.

He said that as food aid, each family was given rice, pulses, oil, sugar, salt, candles, matches, saline, water purification tablets, and safe drinking water.

The food items and medical aid were distributed in the presence of Upazila Nirbahi Officer and public representatives of Ramkrishnapur upazila. This activity of the Navy will continue till the flood situation of the country improves.
