Natural gas emits from tubewells

Gases are out from multiple tubewells in Tumchar of Lakshmipur Sadar. And due to this, the joy of happiness is flowing among the people. People have been seen cooking on the gas’s fire. On the other hand, the risk of accidents has also seen. 

Deputy Assistant Engineer of Bakhrabad Gas Sales Center of Lakshmipur area, Md Borhan Uddin informed, “A deep tubewell was placed on Thursday at the Dhanu Mia’s house in East Tumchar village. On Saturday, the gas suddenly started coming out from the pipe of the deep tubewell.” 
“The intensity of the gas climbed up to 15 feet high. There is also a gas out of the other shallow tubewells. After coming in contact with the fire, it started to burn,” he said.  

On Sunday afternoon, it was seen that the gas coming out of the tubewell as before in the Dhanu Mia’s house. The people of the house have been seen cooking in the gas’s fire. 

Homeowner Hossain Ahmed said, “We think that natural gas is available here. The gas also came out from a tubewell in the South Tumchar three years ago. If the authorities take initiative, our fate may change in gas mines.”

Deputy Assistant Engineer Md Borhan Uddin said, “When placing a tubewell in the Tumchar, the presence of gas was found.”   

“On one hand, its good news, on the other hand, there is a risk of major accidents. The concerned officials visited the site. Measures will be taken on senior authorities’ decision,” he added.
