National Road Safety Day today

The National Road Safety Day is being observed today (on Thursday, October 22) in a befitting manner in the country.
This year’s theme of the day is: ‘Mujib Borsher Swapath, Sarak Karbo Nirapad”.
The Road Transport and Bridges Ministry have drawn up various programmes including souvenir publication, discussion and road safety campaign. A discussion will be held at Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Bhaban in Banani at 10:30 am.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the virtual event as the chief guest while Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader will preside over it.
President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages on the eve of the National Road Safety Day to be observed for the fourth time in the country.
The President and the Prime Minister wished success of all programmes of the day.
In observance of the day, leaflets, posters and stickers will be distributed to make aware the transport owners, drivers, passengers and pedestrians.
The day will also be observed at district and Upazila levels through holding discussions and screening of awareness-raising documentaries.
