Two people were killed including a minor and 15 others injured when a wrecker rammed a human hauler, locally known as leguna, on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Shibchar upazila of Narsingdi on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Yasin Arafat, 28, a worker of garment, and Jihad, 10, son of Ripon Miah.

Sources said, a Narsingdi-bound wrecker rammed into a human hauler parked at the gate of Thermax Group after its driver lost control over the steering due to dense fog around 8 am, leaving the due spot-dead and others injured. The injured were rushed to the Narsingdi District Sadar Hospital.

Being angered over the colleague`s death, workers of the organisation and local people attacked a car of BTV blocking the highway.

BTV`s programme producer Mamun Mahmud, camera-person Abdul Quader and Narsingdi Correspondent of CNN Bangla received injuries during the attack.

Later, Thermax Group chairman Abdul Quader with the help of law enforcers went to the spot and took the situation under control after two hours of efforts.
