Narail people pay homage to SM Sultan

Today is the 26th death anniversary of international painter SM Sultan. The birthday of the artist was celebrated on a limited scale in the coronavirus pandemic with the initiative of the SM Sultan Foundation and the district administration at the artist's house in Machimdia, Narail.
On this occasion, a Qur'an recitation program was arranged on Saturday morning at the artist's house in the city's Masmadiya for the forgiveness of his departed soul.
Later, the district administration, Narail district press club and various social and cultural organizations of the city paid homage to the artist with flowers on grave.
Prominent people including Deputy Commissioner Anjuman Ara, Narail District Press Club President Khairul Arefin Rana took part in it. At the end of the tribute, the artists wished peace of soul and liberation of the world humanity from the Coronavirus transmission.
Artist SM Sultan was born on August 10, 1924 in the village of Machimdia in Narail. The time-honored artist Sultan passed away on October 10, 1994 while undergoing treatment at Jessore Combined Military Hospital due to incurable diseases.
