The infection rate in New York has risen so much that the number of patients admitted to the city’s hospital for months is at an all-time high. Therefore, the New York authorities will start imposing fines from Friday to implement the corona restrictions.
Public gatherings in the red cluster area are strictly prohibited. Fines of up to $15,000 a day for mass gatherings, up to $1,000 for social distancing violations will be issued.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has warned everyone. He said all those who do not follow the rules issued due to coronavirus will face severe consequences.
Various restrictions are being imposed in the orange and red cluster zone areas. Schools there are only allowed to take compulsory weekly exams. The newly imposed restrictions will continue for at least two weeks. The ban will not be lifted until the rate of infection decreases as much as New York has seen this summer.
In New York, 754 people in total were hospitalized for COVID-19 as of Thursday, the highest number since July 16. Authorities in New Jersey have been monitoring 652 hospitalizations, the highest number since August 5. However, the highest daily new COVID-19 cases have been reported since late May.
