NSU student among 3 killed in Dhaka road crashes

Three people including a student of North South University were killed in separate road accidents in the capital on Wednesday morning. 

The deceased were identified as Shakil Ahmed Turjo, 22, a student of Computer Science and Technology Department of North South University, pick up van helper Abdur Rahman, 40, son of Ibrahim Mandal of Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha district, and pick up van driver Moinuddin, 30, son of late Abdul Majid of Mohganganj Upazila of Netrokona district. 

Al-Helal, Sub-Inspector of Gulshan Police Station, said that a private hit a roadside electricity pole as its driver lost control over the wheel, leaving Shakil Ahmed Turjo dead on the spot. 

His cousin Fardin Khan, 24, was seriously injured in the incident. He was admitted to Apollo Hospital. 

Meanwhile, Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost Inspector Bachchu Mia said that a mud-laden truck hit covered van driver associate Abdur Rahman in Alubazar area when he unshipped goods from the van, leaving him seriously injured. 

Later, he was rushed to DMCH where doctor declared him dead.  

On the other hand, a pickup van overturned as its driver lost control near Aminbazar Bhanga Bridge, leaving the driver seriously injured. Later, locals resued him and took to DMCH, where doctor declared him dead.
