Astronaut Kate Rubin has cast her ballot for the upcoming 2020 US presidential election from the International Space Station (ISS). After casting her vote, a picture of Rubin was posted on the official Twitter page of NASA Astronauts.

NASA says astronauts must first apply if they want to cast vote from the ISS. NASA will make all the arrangements after learning about their desire to vote.

The rules for voting in the United States are a bit different. Voters elect representatives by ballot. Those delegates voted to elect the president. As a first step, the general public is currently voting. So far 5 crores 15 lakh votes have been cast. Among them is the vote of a NASA astronaut.

NASA is located in the state of Texas. So the election office there has a special password. This password is used to download the votes of NASA astronauts.

There are only 11 days left for the US election. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his Democrat candidate Joe Biden have been busy campaigning in the last moment.
