A mysterious abandoned ship has hit the coast of Ireland recently in the wake of the powerful Cyclone Dennis hit Europe which caused a lot of stir among the local people.

The ship has sailed the Atlantic Ocean aimlessly for more than a year, according to BBC.

The abandoned ship has been identified as ‘Alta’which was built in 1976. Several names and owners of the ship have been known. However, the ship was last flown with a Tanzanian flag.

BBC said the authorities of different countries knew about the ship’s aimlessly movement in advance. A British Navy ship has last identified the ship in September 2019.

Usually, the damaged ship is the property of its owners. They decide what to do next. However, if a vessel is obstructed by sea transport, local authorities can decide. As a result, local authorities, including the Ireland Coast Guard, will decide what to do with the ship.
