World number one Novak Djokovic has confirmed that he will play only two events of the ATP 500 event in Vienna and the season-ending ATP Finals for the rest of the season 2020 while also declaring that his primary goal is to seal the year-end World No. 1 ranking.
"I'm going to play the Vienna tournament that wasn't originally on my schedule. I haven't played in Vienna for 15 years so I'm happy about that," Djokovic said.
The 33-year-old Djokovic talked about the London Masters, which starts on November 15, that would be his second and final tournament this year.
"This season, which was very intermittent, different and weird, at the same time brought me a lot of success and I'm very satisfied with my game, points, ranking," Djokovic said. "I hope that, after the month and a half that's left in this season, I will finish it as world number one. That's my professional goal and I'm going to work on it. It's mostly up to me."
Djokovic has been at the top in the world rankings since February 3.
According to the latest rankings, he is 1890 rating points ahead of second-placed Rafael Nadal. However, Djokovic left Nadal the title after losing in straight sets in the final of the French Open in Paris.
