Renowned music director Basudev Ghosh has passed away. He breathed his last on Sunday around 10:30 pm at the capital’s BIRDEM General Hospital.

Music director Ajmer Babu confirmed the matter.

Basudev Ghosh was suffering from heart disease for a long time and due to sudden chest pain, he was taken to BIRDEM Hospital on Sunday evening and declared dead at around 10:30 pm, according to duty doctors.  

It was learned that the body of Basudev Ghosh will be taken to Kanungo Para in Boalkhali, Chattogram on Monday night. His funeral will be held there.

Music Director Basudev Ghosh created numerous songs including ‘Tomar Oi Mon Take e Ekta Dhulimakha Poth Kore Dao’, ‘Tumi Hariye Jaoar Somoy Amay Songe Nio’, ‘Ami Khuje Berai Amar Ma’, ‘Ei Kore Kete Gelo 12ti Bosor,’ ‘Dhol’, ‘Deho Madol’, etc.

The country’s prominent music director was working on an album with 1000 patriotic songs titled ‘Surjaloke Shanito Praner Gaan’. He already completed 900 songs, according to sources saying that Basudev was supposed to submit the work and the relevant documents to the office of Guinness World Records. But he left this job unfinished.
