Mushfiqur tops Shakib in ODI runs

Mushfiqur Rahim has become the second-highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in ODI surpassing Shakib Al Hasan. 

Mushfiqur overtook Shakib for the second-highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in his way to 127-ball 125 runs innings in the second ODI against Sri Lanka at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Shakib came down with the bat at number three. He returned to the pavilion without scoring. Shakib scored 7451 runs in 211 ODI matches.

Before this match, Mushfiqur's run was 7426. In other words, Mushfiqur was 23 runs behind Shakib.

Today, Mushfiqur overtook Shakib in his way to eight ODI hundred in the 226th match.

Mushfiqur hit 10 fours in his 125 off 127 balls innings before being dismissed as the last Bangladeshi batsman.

Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal is at the top of the list with 7517 runs in 215 ODIs followed by Mushfiqur Rahim (6553) and Shakib (6451).
