Mushfiqur moves up 13 places in Test rankings

Following his exploits with the bat in the second Test against Zimbabwe -- where he became the first-wicket-keeper to score two double hundreds and accomplished the feat of notching the highest score by a Bangladesh batsman (219*) – Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim moved 13 places up the ladders in the ICC rankings after the latest updates took place.

The Bangladesh wicketkeeper batsman's current position is 19. Bangladesh won handsomely by 218 runs in the second Test to draw the series against Zimbabwe 1-1. Along with Mushfiqur, Mominul Haque had also struck a brilliant 161 in the first innings. Mominul moved up nine spots to 35. Mushfiqur’s current position, which he shares with West Indies’ Kraigg Brathwaite is his career-best ranking in Test cricket.

Tamim Iqbal moved to moved upto 31st place despite missing the series against Zimbabwe while Shakib dropped to 25th. With Mushfiqur the man in form at the moment, Bangladesh will be hoping he can improve upon his standing further. A determined Mushfiqur was seen honing his skills at the nets today at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today even as the rest of the Tigers chose to stay away from the nets as training was optional.
