Moushumi to star Bangamata

A biographical movie on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is going to make in a joint production by the Government of Bangladesh and India where the popular actress of the Dhaka film industry Moushumi will play the role of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa. 

Biopic director Salman Haider said another film is being made for Mujib Borsho. This biopic titled ‘Sheikh Russeler Artonaad’ will come up with the story of Sheikh Russel, the youngest member of the Bangabandhu family.

In this film, Aruk Munshi, a living reflect of Bangabandhu, will play the role of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Aparna will act as Sheikh Hasina and Ashna Habib Bhabna will act as Sheikh Rehana. And Rohan will appear as Sheikh Russel. Yusuf will play the role of Sheikh Kamal and Sabbir will play the role of Sheikh Jamal.

Director Salman Haider said: “I am making the film from within myself. I have arranged its story and screenplay for many times. Here I will try to tell the story from the perspective of Sheikh Russel. But each character is important. I am very pleased to have found our beloved Moushumi in the character of Bangamata. I think she is perfect for this character.”

About the rest of the characters, I chose the artist based on the similarity of the look, the performance of the actors. Shooting will start soon, he also said. “Preparations are currently underway.”  

According to the director, the film will be released in Mujib Borsho after shooting, dubbing, editing, and other works.
