Tottenham Hotspur F.C. sacked coach Jose Mourinho 17 months after taking charge. He was replaced by Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019.
Tottenham, currently seventh in the table, has collected just two points from their last three league matches. The Spurs have already left the Europa League in March.
On Sunday, Tottenham confirmed their position in the European Super League with five other EPL teams. That’s when it was understood that a big change could come in the team. Mourinho and four other coaching staff have been sacked by club authorities.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said in a statement that “Mourinho and his coaching staff were with us during the club’s difficult times. Mourinho is extremely realistic and his experience during Covid-19 has helped us a lot.”
“Personally, I am delighted to be working with Mourinho. However, we are no longer together due to some issues that have not been resolved yet. He will always be special for us. We thank him and his colleagues,” he added.
