Three people, including mother and son, were killed on Saturday morning as a bus hit them on Dhaka-Kuakata Highway at Amtali’s AK Government Secondary School intersection in Barguna. 

Three people, including a six-year-old daughter of the deceased, were injured in the incident. They were taken to the hospital.

The deceased are — Nupur Begum, wife of Singapore expatriate Abul Hossain of South Raoga village of the upazila, their son Nishadh, and Lamia, niece of Nupur, daughter of Jashim Molla of the same village.  

Confirming the incident, Amtali Police Station OC Abul Hossain said that a bus of Barishal-Kuakata route lost its control after reaching AK Government Secondary School and hit pedestrians. In this, three including, mother and son, killed on the spot and three were injured. 

The driver fled the bus immediately after the incident. The bus was taken into custody. The injured were rushed to the hospital, he also said.
