Most places in country may experience rain

Rainfall activity has increased in the country as monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh. Rain or storm is likely to occur in most of the places in the country in the next few hours till 1 pm from 5:00 am today. 

The river ports have been asked to hoist the cautionary signal number one, the met office said in a warning message early on Tuesday morning. Besides, day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country. 

According to the release, “In association with rain or thundershowers temporary South or SouthEasterly squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Bogura, Pabna, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Tangail, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox's Bazar wherein river ports shall hoist riverine warning signal number one till 1 pm today.”   

Meanwhile, 68 millimeters (mm) rainfall has been recorded in Dhaka in the last 24 hours. 

The Met Office predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers with wind speed 8-15 kph is likely to occur in Dhaka and its adjoining areas in the next six hours commencing 7:00 am today. Besides, the temperature may rise over the area during the period.
