Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudi Airlines have taken 31,317 stranded  Bangladeshi migrant workers to Saudi Arabia.

Biman Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mokabbir Hossain confirmed this.

He said 31,317 stranded migrants had reached Saudi Arabia since September 23.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudia Airlines could not carry the passengers who come by other airlines due to the pressure of their own passengers to back to Saudi Arabia. That created an uncertainty to return of migrant workers to Saudi Arabia who came by other airlines.

Mokabbir Hossain said Biman has arranged four special flights at the end of this month for those who came to Bangladesh by other airlines.

He said that since the launch of regular flights to Saudi Arabia on September 23, about 55,000 Saudi-bound Bangladeshi workers have been waiting to back to their workplaces.

An official of Saudi Airlines said that at present there is no crowd of Saudi-bound passengers on their airlines and they hope that all Bangladeshi migrant workers can be taken to Saudi Arabia within the stipulated time.
