Mosque blast in N’ganj: Electrician Mubarak put on remand

The court has granted a two-day remand to electrician Mubarak Hossain arrested in connection with the case over the explosion at a mosque in Narayanganj's West Talla area that caused the death of 33 lives.
On Sunday afternoon, the CID applied for a five-day remand of Mubarak Hossain in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Kauser Alam. The judge later granted a two-day remand.
Earlier on Saturday night, Mubarak Hossain was arrested from the West Talla area of Fatullah.
Narayanganj CID Additional SP Harun-ur-Rashid said there were two electrical connections at Baitus Salat Jame Mosque in Talla area and one connection was illegal. Mubarak Hossain did all electrical works including wiring all kinds of electrical connections of the mosque.
Earlier, CID arrested eight people, including four sacked officials of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited Fatullah area. Later, the judge granted a two-day remand to eight people.
On the night of September 4, an explosion took place at the Baitus Salat Jame Mosque in the western Talla area of Fatullah in Narayanganj.later, all the 37 burned victims were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic. Thirty-three people of them, have died at the hospital so far. One has returned home after a successful recovery. The physical condition of the other three is also critical.
