Moscow, the capital of Russia have eased the lockdown restrictions, which was issued 9 weeks ago. Though the number of infections continues to rise, the authorities in Moscow have taken such a decision.
Shopping centers in Russia’s capital have reopened after restrictions have been eased. People have started leaving the house. Earlier, President Vladimir Putin announced last week Russia had passed the peak of its outbreak.
However, the number of patients identified as infected with coronavirus is increasing every day. So many have questioned the government’s decision to lift the lockdown ban. Officials say the low numbers of deaths are due to high testing numbers. Critics fear the true number is far higher.
According to the country’s government authorities, Russia reported another 9,035 cases and 162 deaths on Monday. The total number of deaths in the country is now 4,855.
