Former Foreign Minister and BNP Vice-Chairman M Morshed Khan is resigning from the party – he sent his resignation letter on Tuesday evening to BNP’s imprisoned Chairperson Khaleda Zia through party’s Secretary-General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. 

It is learned that M Morshed Khan withdrew his name not only from the Vice-Chairman but also from the party’s primary membership.

79-year-old M Morshed Khan was the Foreign Minister of the BNP-led four-party coalition government from 2001-2006. He first elected as MP in 1986. Then he joined BNP in 1991. He was then elected MP from Chattogram-8 seat in 1996 and 2001.
