Monsoon fairly active, rain likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday predicted that many places of the country are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at
many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi,
Dhaka, Barishal and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country," said a met office release this morning.
Meanwhile, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the period, it added.
Country’s maximum temperature was recorded yesterday 35.5 degrees Celsius in Khulna and today’s lowest temperature was 24.6 degrees Celsius in Tangail.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay, the release said. The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 55 millimetres (mm) in Tangail.
The sunsets at 6:05 pm today and rises at 5:44 am tomorrow in the capital.
