Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid homage at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
He paid homage to Bangabandhu by laying a wreath at his tomb at 11:39 am on Saturday.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina greeted Narendra Modi with flowers when he arrived at the Mausoleum Complex around 11:30 am on Saturday. Bangabandhu’s youngest daughter Sheikh Rehana was also present there.
Later, Narendra Modi laid a wreath at the tomb of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of Independent Bangladesh. He is the first foreign head of government to visit Tungipara.
Earlier on Saturday morning, the Prime Minister of India left for Tungipara by helicopter after paying obeisance at Jeshoreshwari Kali Temple in Shyamnagar, Satkhira.
