Modern streetlights enhancing the beauty of Rajshahi city
Rajshahi, the city of beauty, has filled with greenery and flowers. Many more beautiful trees including beautiful flowers have been planted at the initiative of the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC). The trees are spreading vitality and beauty among the passengers and the pedestrians.
Rajshahi, also known as the city of silk, education and greenery, is one of the oldest and most traditional metropolitan cities of Bangladesh. Adjacent to the Padma, this green city is the largest city in North Bengal.
With a potential of 37.33 square miles, the city is developing fast with the help of City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton. Innovation is manifesting everywhere with the touch of modernity, containing the tradition of various development touches in the streets of the city. Apart from renovating various patterns of heritage, various installations are being constructed.
The Rajshahi city is at the forefront of the world in reducing the harmful particles floating in the air. With this fame and reputation, while Rajshahi city is moving ahead in the development process, new street lights have been installed to add a new dimension to the beauty of the city.
Upgradation of the road from Baharampur Rail Crossing in Rajshahi metropolis to Kashiadanga intersection has been completed. Then the work of installing beautiful modern street lights on the road island has started. RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton inaugurated the installation of street light poles at the Baharampur Rail Crossing area on Wednesday noon.
At the top of the eye-catching streetlights are beautiful yellow frames with beautiful art flowers. All in all, the eye-catching streetlight poles attracted the pedestrians, making them take a selfie with smartphones.
“The streetlights shine at night as well as during the day which looks very attractive,” said Himel, a university student.
Al-Rafin, a pedestrian, said the road has been made four-lane, adding to the beauty of the road and reducing traffic congestion.
RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton said Rajshahi would be number one among all the cities of the country in any competition on cleanliness. “But we do not want to be satisfied with that. We want Rajshahi to be above all in terms of beauty. We want to make Rajshahi one of the best cities in South Asia. Everyone’s cooperation is needed for this,” he added.
348 modern street lights will be installed on 174 poles in the road. The road from Baharampur Rail Crossing to Kashiadanga intersection has been upgraded from 30 feet to 80 feet at a cost of Tk 26.75 crore under a project worth Tk 173 crore for the development of various important roads in the Rajshahi metropolis.
