Missing BNP leader Sadat Ahmed arrested

Businessman and a BNP leader Syed Sadat Ahmed, who was missing over four months ago, arrested on Saturday night, in Dhaka.

Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested him from Rampura Bridge area in the capital around 10 pm on Saturday.

Confirming the matter police’s Detective Branch Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Yusuf Ali tld said, Sadat was shown arrested in a vandalism case filed at Ramna police station in 2015.

DB Joint Commissioner Abdul Baten said Sadat was in their custody now. Police would produce him in a court in a case over violence on Sunday, he added.

Sadat, the managing director of ABN Group and a BNP executive committee member, also a vice-president of the BNP’s Chittagong South unit, was picked up by a group of men in a microbus on August 22 in Dhaka, his family had alleged and informed police about the matter.
