Miscreant attempts to set fire in Rohingya camp again

An unidentified miscreant attempted to set fire at Unchiprang camp in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar. 

He fled after setting fire to the house of Asu Zaman, a resident of B-block of the camp, around 8:30 pm on Saturday. In this, the roof of the tin-shed house was slightly burnt. 

Upon receiving the news, the fire was brought under control and no major damage was caused, the local said.

Confirming the matter, 16 APBN captain SP Md. Tariqul Islam said they rushed to the spot and doused the fire with the help of the people in the area. 

It has been learned that a stranger set fire and fled. Attempts are being made to identify the person. The situation is currently normal, he added.

It is to be mentioned that a massive fire broke out in the Balukhali Rohingya camp in Ukhiya on Monday (March 22). 11 people were burnt to death and more than 45,000 Rohingya were affected.
