Misbah-ul-Haq has played multiple roles in the Pakistan cricket team. The Pakistan head coach erstwhile chief selector on Wednesday announced his resignation from the post of the chief selector to give more focus on coaching, reports Geo News.

According to Geo News reports, Misbah made the decision due to extra pressure. He will give details in a press conference, the report said.

Pakistan did not perform as expected in the 2019 ODI World Cup. In the process of rotation, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Misbah as head coach and chief selector simultaneously last September.

After getting two important responsibilities, the Pakistan team was sorted out under Misbah-ul-Huq. There was also a change in the captaincy. However, the team was not getting the desired result.

It has been rumored for the last few days that Misbah is about to resign from one of the two posts.

Misbah said, “They (PCB) gave me the option to decide which responsibility I would like to retain, and I opted for coaching.”

However, he clarified that he would still select the teams for the upcoming Zimbabwe and New Zealand series.
