Minni’s lunch menu at condemned cell

Ayesha Siddique Minni, who was sentenced to death in the Rifat Sharif murder case in Barguna, has been kept at the women's unit of condemned cell in Barguna District Jail.
Barguna District Jail Superintendent Anwar Hossain said Minni was given rice, vegetables and pulses at the condemned cell on Thursday afternoon.
He said Minni would be given rice, vegetables and pulses for lunch but beef at night. But on the first night he could not sleep at all. Minni could not believe her own death sentence.
Jail Superintendent Anwar said the other five convicts in the Rifat Sharif murder case were also mentally disturbed. They have also been kept in condemned cell.
He added that prisoner would never be able to get out of the cell. Once a month she will be able to meet her relatives. Also once a week they will be able to talk on the phone with relatives up to a certain time.
On June 26, 2019, in front of Barguna Government College, Nayan Bond and his accomplices publicly stabbed Rifat Sharif with machetes and seriously injured him. Injured Rifat died on the same day at Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. Rifat's father Abdul Halim Dulal Sharif filed a case the next day.
The court on Wednesday sentenced six accused, including Rifat Sharif's wife Ayesha Siddique Minni, to death and acquitted four others in the case. Besides, each of the convicts was fined Tk 50,000.
The convicts are- Rifat Faraji, Al Qayyum alias Rabbi Akon, Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, Rezwan Ali Khan Hridoy alias Tiktok Hridoy, Md. Hasan and Ayesha Siddique Minni.
The acquitted are- Md. Musa, Rafiul Islam Rabbi, Md. Sagar and Kamrul Hasan Simun.
