The verdict in the murder case of Rifat Sharif in Barguna will be on Wednesday. Barguna District and Sessions Judge Md. Ashaduzzaman will announce the verdict against 10 adults accused including Ayesha Siddika Minni in the case.
Reacting before the verdict, Minni's father Mozammel Hossain Kishore said that his daughter was innocent. “Hopefully, she will be acquitted from this case,” he added.
Mozammel Hossain Kishore said, “My daughter has been framed in this case conspiratorially. People all over the country have seen how my daughter has gone to great lengths to save her husband from the clutches of terrorists.”
“We have full confidence in the court," My expectation is that the judge will acquit Minni in this case,” he added.
On the other hand, Rifat’s father and Minni’s father-in-law Abdul Halim Dulal Sharif claimed that Minni was the “mastermind. She should have exemplary punishment.”
“Today I am childless because of Minni. Minni married my son but had an illicit affair with Nayan Bond. And my son had to be the victim of that illicit relationship. I demand exemplary punishment for this conspirator so that no father loses their child anymore.”
“Minni married Nayan Bond before marrying my son. Hiding that information, Minni continues to have an affair with Nayan Bond even after marrying my son. Her punishment is now demanded by the people of Barguna,” Abdul Halim Dulal Sharif added.
On June 26, 2019, in front of Barguna Government College, Nayan Bond and his accomplices publicly hacked Rifat Sharif with machetes in broad daylight and seriously injured him. The injured Rifat later died at Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
On September 1, police filed a chargesheet against 24 people, including Rifat’s wife Minni, in the Rifat Sharif murder case in the Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court. At the same time, the number one accused in the Rifat murder case, Nayan Bond, was killed in a gunfight, so he was acquitted.
On January 1, the Barguna District and Sessions Judge’s Court framed charges against 10 adults accused in the Rifat murder case. On the other hand, on January 8, the Barguna Children’s Court framed charges against 14 juveniles accused in the Rifat murder case.
